We are very lucky to live in such a beautiful place where hikes like this are in abundance. Both of these creeks start in Scaly Mountain and run through Highland Gap, the Scaly Mountain community where we live. Our daughter who is 6, grew up hiking and can go for miles. She finds amazement in the little things in nature that many adults would pass by without notice. Like most kids, she is a rock collector and always comes back with more weight than she started.
