It’s Looking A Lot Like Christmas

This is our 4th snow of the year already and by far, the best. Kids love the fact that our schools are routinely delayed or cancelled due to weather and I really don’t mind it either – that is as long as we have power. I have always wondered why the snow birds leave when the temperature drops because this is when the mountains are at their best and all is so peaceful. Prior to owning property here, we routinely rented a house during the “cold season” though it appears now, we were in the minority. One issue is that many older homes are a tad too breezy though the overriding issue seems to be that folks just don’t like to be cold. However, I have learned a few tricks since I moved here full-time and one is “layering” and the other is how to keep a fire going in the wood stove. A further explanation of why a fireplace is not a good option for anything other than ambience will be saved for a future entry.
